Even though David De Gea may not be Manchester United’s biggest problem right now, the Red Devils have repeatedly been linked to a new goalkeeper this season.
One of the main targets is said to be Porto’s Diogo Costa, who’s been standing out for the Dragons, having also being a starter for Portugal at the World Cup.
The Portuguese press have many times reported that Manchester United are following the 23-year-old, and last night, the Red Devils actually watched him in person.
As reported by newspaper A Bola, Erik ten Hag’s side had a scout at the Champions League clash between Porto and Inter Milan.
With Costa being the only Porto player linked to Manchester United recently, that makes him the obvious target. It’s fair to say he had a good performance, doing well when needed and keeping the clean sheet.
This month, we had already seen newspaper O Jogo claiming the Red Devils have a ‘habitual presence’ at Porto games to watch Costa in action. The goalkeeper’s price on Transfermarkt was recently updated to €45m, although the Dragons are more likely to demand something close to his €75m release clause.
