Back in the last summer, when Fulham were working to get João Palhinha signed from Sporting, they reportedly also made an effort to buy Marko Grujic from Porto.

In a heavy quest for a central midfielder, the Whites reportedly put €18m on the table to sign the Dragons’ player, and that wasn’t enough to get him signed.

Now it turns out that Fulham had a scout at Porto’s clash against Inter Milan in the Champions League last night, and Grujic actually did very well.

The midfielder was taken by the Portuguese media as the man of the match, as local newspapers claim he had a great performance from box to box, winning several duels and creating the Dragons’ best attacking plays.

He also nearly scored, and that would have made him the true hero in the home side’s win.

It’s newspaper A Bola who reports that Fulham scouted that game, but the truth is that they give no details on who the Craven Cottage side were actually watching.

Marco Silva’s team surely could have new targets at Porto or even at Inter Milan, but if that bid for Grujic was true, his performance from last night might have left them thinking about coming back for him once again.
