With Manchester United making it clear they’re not done after the EFL Cup title, the club continue to look for reinforcements to fight for bigger things.
As usual, one of the markets the Red Devils analyse the most is the Portuguese one, as they frequently have scouts in the country.
It seems it was no different at the weekend, as Manchester United reportedly emissaries watching the match between Porto and Gil Vicente.
As newspaper O Jogo features a list of clubs who had representatives at the Estádio do Dragão, they point out that the Red Devils are of ‘habitual presence’ there.
Manchester United turned to watch a disappointing loss from Porto, with the Dragons losing 2-1.
The home side’s only player who had a fairly good match was Mehdi Taremi, who scored their goal.
For Gil Vicente, centre-back Tomás Araujo and winger Murilo were those who stood out in their win.
Manchester United have many times been linked to Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa this season, but he didn’t have a brilliant night this time, and could do little to avoid their loss.
Then again, after David De Gea’s performances of late, perhaps a new goalkeeper might not be needed.
