Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs who are interested in Casa Pia youngster Léo Fajardo.
This chase is today revealed by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who claims the teenager is drawing the attention from several clubs.
Fajardo is currently playing for Casa Pia’s U-17 level, and that’s where some scouts have been watching him.
Manchester United are one of the clubs sending their emissaries, along with Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Ajax, Benfica and Sporting.
It’s said all those clubs are set to continue to scout the player for the rest of the season, and an ‘interesting race’ for his signing is expected.
What makes the situation more intense is that Fajardo is not ‘contractually bound’ to Casa Pia, meaning he’s free to sign for any clubs he wants.
The striker has 20 goals scored in 17 appearances this season, and we’ll see whether Manchester United will actually try to bring him. With Portuguese clubs also interested, it would be no surprise if they manage to keep him in the country for a few more years.
