Manchester United are ‘ready to make an official offer’ for RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko.

That’s according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who says the youngster could move in this transfer window.

Sesko is one of the hottest-rated young forwards in Europe, the latest in a growing list of players to have developed at the Austrian club.

His tally of 12 goals and eight assists in 38 games at just 19 years old has not gone unnoticed and the latest club credited with an interest is Manchester United.

They could be on the hunt for a new striker this summer should Cristiano Ronaldo get the move that he wants out of Old Trafford.

Sesko has been named as a target in England and Galetti backs this up, stating that they are ‘ready to make an official offer’ for the striker.

Thus he could move in this window, although that would be against the wishes of RB Salzburg, who ‘would prefer’ to keep him for another season at least.

Galetti makes it sound like the transfer is quickly picking up pace but we’d urge caution as there is still no mention of Sesko or Manchester United in Austria.

Indeed, there has been radio silence so far, which is a little strange given this is the big star of their biggest team moving to one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Thus, we would take Galetti’s latest update with a pinch of salt and hesitate against too much excitement for the time being.
