FC Lorient have positioned themselves to sign Manchester United’s Donny van de Beek, according to Foot Mercato.
The midfielder hasn’t featured for the Red Devils this season and was expected to leave Old Trafford earlier in the window.
Real Sociedad came forward to sign him last month but they weren’t able to strike an agreement with Manchester United.
Lorient have stepped in as they want to sign the 26-year-old before the window closes on Friday.
It’s claimed the Ligue 1 side have already reached an agreement with Erik ten Hag’s side to take the former Ajax man on a loan deal.
The French club have to find an agreement with the player for the transfer to take shape and the report states this is a ‘problem’ for them since he’s handling ‘several offers’ to leave the Red Devils.
Van de Beek seems to be doubting the move as Foot Mercato say he could make a switch to a ‘more ambitious club’ than Lorient. Either way, the Manchester United player has to make a quick decision on his next destination, before Friday’s deadline.
