On August 5th, Rasmus Højlund completed a move to Old Trafford and Manchester United were then expected to swiftly close a deal for Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.
There’s belief in the Italian media the Red Devils will get the deal over the line before the window closes next Friday.
VfL Wolfsburg’s Aster Vranckx is close to joining Fiorentina, and Calciomercato state his arrival will see the Serie A side offload at least one midfielder and the Manchester United target seems to be the leading candidate.
The 27-year-old was left out of the squad in the Europa Conference League play-off defeat to Rapid Wein earlier this week. Quotidiano.net state this hasn’t pleased the Morrocco international.
Manchester United get a mention, when it’s claimed the Italian club are ‘confidently awaiting’ a move from Erik ten Hag’s side to sign Amrabat.
The Premier League side’s executives have ‘promised’ to take steps to sign him for some time but that hasn’t happened so far. The website says they are aiming to get a discount in the last days of the window.
Quotidiano.net add it’ll be curious to know Fiorentina’s reaction if they receive an offer of less than €23m late in the window.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio state Manchester United ‘continue to insist’ to ‘soon’ close the deal for Amrabat. As things stand, there is no agreement in place between the two clubs for his transfer.
