Erik ten Hag’s arrival at Manchester United in the summer has benefited Diogo Dalot, who has established himself under the Dutchman’s orders. He is the first choice right-back at Old Trafford this season, ahead of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Portugal international’s fine displays for both the Red Devils and his country have seen other clubs take notice.
According to Mundo Deportivo, his name has been included in Barcelona’s target list. They looked at the 23-year-old in the summer but he was not a priority objective because his price was out of their reach and Manchester United were not willing to let the defender leave.
Along with Xavi Hernández’s side, Atlético Madrid, Juventus, AS Roma and AC Milan are monitoring the Portugal international. His contract runs down at the end of this campaign and United have an option to extend it by a year.
It’s claimed the former FC Porto star is now ‘torn between a new renewal proposal and the interest of five European clubs’.
At the moment, Barca are only gathering information about the defender. Mundo state the La Liga side’s scouts watched him in action in Portugal’s 4-0 win over Czech Republic, where he scored a brace.
The Barca scouts were also in attendance at the Estádio Municipal de Braga during Portugal’s 1-0 defeat to Spain, but João Cancelo started the tie ahead of Dalot.
Dalot remains focused on Manchester United, while waiting for offers, likely from the Red Devils [renewal] and his suitors.
