Manchester United are competing strongly for the signing of Fluminense midfielder André, with efforts starting in recent weeks.

That’s according to Trivela, who say Manchester United officials have been sent to matches to watch the player ahead of a move in January.

They explain that Fluminense ‘await proposals’ for one of their star men and know there is ‘strong competition’ between various English sides for his signature.

Manchester United are one of the sides ‘competing’ as they know the player is seen as the natural heir to Casemiro and has even been developed by the Brazilian side as such.

They’ve been utilising their large team of scouts in Brazil to their advantage, sending representatives to watch over the player, including in the recent Copa Libertadores final.

No proposal has been made at this moment in time, but the numbers suggested by Fluminense, who are very much not going to block a possible exit, are very much within Manchester United’s budget.

At the moment Fluminense won’t sell for less than €30m after receiving proposals at that value in the past but they will honour an agreement to let him leave, nonetheless.

Whether that is to Old Trafford remains to be seen but United are very much in the picture.
