Manchester United have moved to block Joshua Zirkzee leaving on loan in the January transfer window, ruling out a ‘dry’ loan move.

That’s according to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who reports that Juventus remain in contact with Zirkzee’s entourage about a move this month.

He states that Juventus are active on the transfer market and are particularly focused on improving their forward options, which has led them to target Zirkzee.

They’ve already opened contacts with the former Bologna striker’s entourage, knowing the situation Zirkzee has found himself in at Manchester United since his arrival in the summer.

The Dutchman has struggled to settle at Old Trafford and does not appear to be in Ruben Amorim’s plans, with the Portuguese coach recently taking him off after 30 minutes in the defeat to Newcastle United.

Juventus’ idea would be to take Zirkzee on a ‘dry’ loan, but for the moment, Manchester United are not open to this solution. The Red Devils, in fact, would like to sell or at the very least include a ‘redemption obligation’ in any deal.

In other words, they are happy to loan out Zirkzee if they must but want to ensure they can get their money back, or at least a large part of it, at the end of the season. Juventus haven’t offered that yet, but it seems there’s plenty of negotiations left in this developing saga.
