Serie A side Lazio have approached Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo about a move to the club this summer.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who state that the Italian side need to ‘solve problems’ in their defence so are looking at various defenders they could sign.
Rojo fits the bill as he would bring the ‘quality, flexibility and above all the international experience’ that Lazio are looking for.
Another major bonus is that he is out of favour at Old Trafford, where it has been made clear to him that he is ‘no longer considered central to the project’.
Manchester United value the Argentine defender at €8m and so, for the moment at least, Lazio consider it as an idea rather than a player they are definitely going to move for.
Should they do so, though, they already have Rojo’s approval, with his entourage having made it clear that the move is one he would ‘gladly accept’ should it be presented to him.
There is a deal there to be done, then, particularly as Manchester United need to sell this summer or risk losing the player on a free next summer when his contract expires.
