Eintracht Frankfurt will only pay around €1.5m in wages to Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek, who has foregone much of his salary to ensure a loan move can happen.
That’s according to BILD, who provide the latest information on the transfer as the Manchester United edges closer to sealing a love move to the German side.
Reports throughout this week have linked Van de Beek with a move to Frankfurt before there was a sudden acceleration in the talks yesterday, with several claims in Germany that a deal was almost done.
One of those reports indicated that Manchester United would be paying 60% of his wages while he was on loan in Germany and was then followed by another claim that Frankfurt won’t be paying anything for the loan either.
BILD now state that a deal for him is ‘perfect’ and will include a purchase option for ‘just under €10m’, something the German side had been pushing for.
Furthermore, Manchester United will pay ‘large parts’ of his €8m salary during the loan but the Dutchman has reduced that considerably so that Eintracht Frankfurt only have to pay him around €1.5m until June 30th, 2024, and thus don’t need to break their wage structure.
A medical has now been booked in for the beginning of next week, with Frankfurt determined to get the Manchester United man in the squad for January 2nd when they return from their winter break.
