If you’ve been following the news of late when it comes to the Manchester United loanees, Eric Bailly has been in the headlines more than once.

A few times, it’s been because of his good performances for Marseille, but it’s mostly been because of injuries, as the defender has missed quite a few games due to some thigh issues.

He was left out of the squad at the weekend against Strasbourg, but L’Equipe explain the Manchester United man is now back, and is expected to find ‘the starting XI’ once again in the Ligue 1 side’s crucial Champions League game against Tottenham.

That will be good news for Manchester United, who will want their player to shine as much as possible so that Marseille then pull the trigger on his option to buy.

It’s clear the player has no future at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag, who was more than happy to send him away, while Lisandro Martinez came in from Ajax to replace him.

Over in Marseille, he has impressed, and now that he’s back, L’Equipe state he ‘feels ready and wants to play’ in the game against Tottenham.

Doing so does include ‘a small risk’, but in such a crucial game, where the Ligue 1 side need to win, he could be the difference maker in stopping the Spurs attacking force.

Following his transfer from Villarreal, Bailly made 113 appearances for Manchester United, scoring one goal and assisting another two.
