Manchester United are ‘keen to sell’ Donny van de Beek in the summer, paving the way for Ajax to potentially bring him back on the cheap.

That’s according to Soccer News, who say a €10m asking price has been set on the midfielder but there is ‘room for negotiation’ on that point.

They explain that the former Ajax favourite could be available for ‘dirt cheap’ in the summer, with Manchester United keen to move him on and his current loan at Eintracht Frankfurt not helping to revalue him.

The Dutchman is currently stuck in a ‘very deep hole’ at Manchester United and his loan in Germany is only making it deeper and deeper at this point.

The German side have already made it clear they don’t want to spend €10m to sign him permanently in the summer but that means ‘Ajax can strike’ instead as they plan a summer rebuild themselves.

They’ve long been linked with an effort to bring Van de Beek, who was very much a fan favourite at the club during his time there, back and this is the opportunity to do so.

His €10m price tag would be ‘affordable’ but there seems to be room to negotiate on that with Manchester United and they could get him for cheaper.

Whether he wants the move back to Amsterdam remains to be seen but the opportunity is very much there, with Manchester United keen to sell in the summer either way.
