The Ukranian media today reveals Manchester United’s interest in Dynamo Kyiv defender Demyan Tretyak.
Outlet Sport is the one bringing the information, claiming that the Red Devils’ attention towards the player wasn’t exactly planned.
It’s said Manchester United were watching Metalist centre-back Kyrylo Digtyar when playing for Ukraine’s U-17 team, but they ended up being more impressed by his defensive partner, who so happens to be Tretyak.
The story claims that the Red Devils then started gathering all the information on the Dynamo Kyiv player and now plan to continue scouting him in his games in Ukraine.
Tretyak is just 16 years old, and is turning 17 in May. He hasn’t even made his full debut for his club yet, so Manchester United will again be watching him in youth matches.
Despite being so young, the defender has already been at other big clubs such as Dnipro and Dinamo Zagreb.
He arrived at Dynamo Kyiv last summer, and is currently working to get into the first team there.
That’s obviously a long shot for Manchester United, but it’s interesting to see them keeping an eye on young talents all around Europe.
