Wednesday’s edition of Tuttosport covers Juventus’ serious interest in signing Victor Osimhen, and how things aren’t really going their way on that front.

Manchester United are seen as a major obstacle, with it claimed Napoli – who still own the player’s rights – are in talks with Ruben Amorim’s side.

Juventus technical director Cristiano Giuntoli is leading the Turin club’s interest in Osimhen, who is currently having a successful loan at Galatasaray.

One of Giuntoli’s major issues is that Osimhen’s camp are asking for €10m per season after tax, and Juventus don’t want to pay such high wages any longer. Dusan Vlahovic is currently on €12m after tax (when all bonuses are included), and they won’t match that on a renewal.

Juventus were therefore relying on Italy’s Growth Decree tax break, but they’re having problems in that regard too after the scheme was heavily dragged back.

Osimhen is said to have a €70m clause, however, that’s only valid for club’s outside of Italy… another problem.

So, according to Tuttosport, as it stands Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is in talks with Manchester United over a deal which could reach that €70m, with Rasmus Højlund making up part of that amount.

It’s worth noting Manna will have good connections with Manchester United after the successful negotiations which took Scott McTominay to Napoli, and the talks regarding Alejandro Garnacho in January.

Should Tuttosport be on the right page with this, it’s worth considering whether Garnacho could be the player used instead.

Victor Osimhen has 28 goals in 32 matches so far this season for Galatasaray, with him finding happiness again after the 26-year-old’s Napoli chaos.
