Manchester United could be in the market for a central defender due to the situation with Victor Lindelof.

The Swede’s contract expires in the summer of 2025 and Ruben Amorim continuing to stick to a back three, the Red Devils may need a replacement.

Today in Italy, a name that must be quite familiar to Manchester United fans has been linked with the club.

TuttoSport state that the player in question is Juventus’ Danilo, who had a two-year-long spell with Manchester City.

The outlet claim the Brazilian isn’t in the long terms plans at Juventus and is set to depart in January. His representatives have made attempts to look around for new destinations.

Manchester United have ‘tested the waters’ for the 33-year-old and so have Flamengo, Marseille and Al Nassr. The defender is said to be not appealed with these options and he finds an offer from Napoli quite tempting.

Antonio Conte’s side seem closest to landing the veteran and the Old Trafford side may have to pursue other targets.
