For the past few days, reports in the United Kingdom have been discussing Manchester United wanting to sign Atalanta star Rasmus Højlund in the summer.
The 20-year-old joined the Serie A side from Sturm Graz last summer and managed 15 goals and seven assists this season, out of which nine goals and four assists were with Atalanta. His form, profile and potential has pleased the Red Devils.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, there is no shortage of admirers for the striker and the list includes Manchester United and Napoli.
It’s claimed Erik ten Hag’s side are in the ‘front row’ to secure the Denmark international’s services in the next window.
In the ‘last few hours’, the report adds the ‘contacts’ between the Premier League club and Atalanta have ‘intensified’ for the player.
Højlund has a deal until 2027 and TMW state the request from Gian Piero Gasperini’s side remains the same. They need a ‘maxi offer’ of €50m to sit down at the negotiating table.
With Manchester United keen to sign the Dane, it needs to be seen whether they’ll be able to meet the demand set by Atalanta.
