Chelsea and Manchester United are currently ‘fighting’ for the signing of Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat, according to reports.

With the player recently linked to La Liga sides, the news comes from El Chiringuito, where journalist Edu Aguirre talks about this pursuit.

First of all, it’s claimed that Spanish clubs are behind in the race, and that’s because Atletico Madrid have already ‘left the equation’, while Barcelona are only a ‘little likely’ to land the player.

That’s where the Premier League sides come in, as Aguirre says his Italian sources claim that Chelsea are those ‘pushing stronger’, while Manchester United also fight for the signing.

The report doesn’t say how much the Blues and Red Devils are willing to pay for the transfer (although the Serie A side have always stated they would want upward of €40m for their star), but what is made clear is that Fiorentina do not want to lose Amrabat at this stage of the transfer window.

The Serie A side are said to be ‘reluctant’ about his departure, even though ‘anything could happen’ in these final hours of the transfer window.

So it seems it all comes down to the bids that Chelsea and Manchester United would place to convince the Italian club.
