Manchester United have joined the race to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram in the summer.
The striker is set to leave the German club when his contract with them expires on June 30th. Inter Milan, who came close to signing him in the past, have been in pole position for months to secure his services for free in the summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who say that the Serie A side will face tough competition from other clubs, including Manchester United.
It’s claimed Manchester United ‘would have entered’ the fight to sign the 25-year-old in the ‘last few days’. The firm competition from Erik ten Hag’s side and other clubs would complicate the Nerazzurri’s desire to take him for free.
Inter are aware that they cannot compete with ‘economically stronger top clubs’, like Manchester United. Thuram, for his part, will ‘soon decide’ where he will play next season.
