Diogo Dalot is back at Manchester United after his loan stay at AC Milan and speaking to the club’s website, he said his spell at the San Siro was ‘fantastic’.
The Serie A side want to sign the fullback again this summer. According to Milan Live, the Red Devils are asking €18-20m for the defender, but this is deemed excessive by Milan.
Stefano Pioli’s side are ‘not willing to spend that amount’ on the Portugal international and would want to take him on loan with a ‘right of redemption’. This option seems ‘increasingly less likely’ as it stands.
The Rossoneri currently have Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu and Andrea Conti as three right-backs in the squad.
Pioli’s plan is to move Kalulu as a ‘wildcard’ to another defensive position, leaving him with Calabria and Conti, who has entered his final year of contract, as other right-back options.
The Italian club want to offload Conti so that they avoid the risk losing him for nothing, and also get rid of his wages.
As per the report, the clubs to have have shown interest in Conti haven’t made a proposal yet. The impression is that the offers would come at the end of the window as suitors are hoping to get a discount from Milan.
Milan must resolve Conti’s situation and the website adds that without Dalot’s arrival, his case is on ‘standby’.
