Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman in the past few days, and it’s now claimed Manchester United are also interested in a move.

Tuttomercatoweb have looked at the forward’s situation today and they describe it as a ‘complicated’ scenario because of a breakdown in his relationship with manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Italian had questioned Lookman’s penalty-taking abilities after Atalanta’s Champions League loss to Club Brugge, leading to the player releasing a statement criticising Gasperini’s comments.

The Nigerian scored for the Italian side in their 5-0 win over Empoli at the weekend but his future remains uncertain.

The report states that Manchester United ‘could sink the blow’ for the 27-year-old and Newcastle United are also an admirer, with Lookman having had stints at Everton and Fulham in the past.

In the meantime, Juventus are also quietly monitoring the situation from the sidelines. They would have to pay €60m to sign the forward and are considering how to reach that figure, having signed Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta last summer.

That figure could be easier to pay for Manchester United and Newcastle United, and Lookman is expected to make a decision about his future soon. The indication is that he is inclined towards an exit.
