According to a claim in the Turkish media, Manchester United are still in the running to sign Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
Since the announcement Luke Shaw has been ruled out for the start of the season, the 24-year-old left back has been linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Takvim today report on the latest developments regarding Manchester United’s pursuit for Kadıoğlu after reports earlier this week they’d make a bid for the defender. It’s claimed the Red Devils are still in transfer talks to sign the Turkey international, but Brighton & Hove Albion have the edge at this stage.
The Turkish media outlet say the Seagulls have tabled a more attractive offer than Manchester United and Fener are more likely to accept this. Last week it was reported Brighton had offered €35m plus add-ons.
Takvim say his future will be finalised soon, and although it’s still not decided which club will sign the player it’s reported he’s keen to play in the Premier League.
Kadıoğlu made 41 appearances for Fenerbahce last season, scoring 3 goals. He’s contracted to the Yellow Canaries until June 2026.
