Manchester United are interested in Galatasaray youngster Efe Akman, according to reports from the Turkish media.
The Red Devils’ chase for the 17-year-old is today revealed by GS Gazete, where journalist Burhan Can Terzi talks about the pursuit.
It’s first claimed that Ajax are going for the youngster, as their official Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been in Turkey to follow the player from close.
Then it’s said that Manchester United are also ‘in contact’ for the midfielder.
Since Ajax are said to have Akman ‘at the top’ of their wish list, it’s very likely the Dutch side will prove to be heavy competitors for the player.
And with Erik ten Hag having left the Eredivisie giants at the end of the season, perhaps that’s a target he brought with him to Manchester United.
Akman is still mostly playing for Galatasaray’s U-19 squad, and is still to make his debut for the first team, but with him regularly featuring for them in the UEFA Youth League, it’s no surprise that European giants are already looking at his potential.
For now, it’s not said how much the Turkish side would demand for his sale.
