The French media today shares an update on Manchester United’s quest for the signing of Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich.
FootMercato shows up to say that the player is ‘truly packing his bags’ to leave the Bundesliga side and join the Red Devils this summer.
The story claims that talks between Manchester United’s and de Ligt’s agent Rafaela Pimenta are actually ‘very advanced’ for a happy ending.
It’s said both parties want to ‘quickly reach an agreement’ and get the transfer done right after the Euros.
Also according to FootMercato, Manchester United are expected to pay Bayern Munich over €50m for the transfer.
Since the Red Devils interest in De Ligt started being reported, there’s been an aura of optimism about it. Reports from the German media claimed on Monday that Erik ten Hag’s side are actually ‘very confident’ that they’ll reach a deal for his signing this week.
De Ligt will be in the Dutch team that plays England on Wednesday night, and depending on how that goes, perhaps Manchester United can do the deal sooner.
