Tammy Abraham’s stuttering at AS Roma has not stopped Manchester United from keeping tabs on him, according to claims from Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport state the 25-year-old has disappointed this season and José Mourinho prefers Andrea Belotti ahead of him to lead his side’s attack. If the Serie A side decide to sell one of them, Abraham is likelier to be chosen ahead of the Italian.

The England international has suitors in the Premier League, where Manchester United are ‘closely’ monitoring him. They are possibly trying to understand how to carry out a deal in the summer.

La Repubblica, relayed by ForzaRoma.info, also state Mourinho has chosen Belotti as the first-choice striker, even though he has scored only two goals this year. Therefore, the Giallorossi have started to assess the former Chelsea man’s future at the club.

Abraham could help Roma ‘raise cash’ in the summer as they could collect more than they invested [€40m] in 2021.

Their chief, Tiago Pinto, wants at least €60m for the frontman. There are clubs in England looking at him, ‘above all Manchester United’.

It’s claimed a Red Devils scout is present at every match to ‘closely’ monitor Abraham in action for Roma.

For now, Erik ten Hag’s side are only watching him closely. It remains to be seen whether they are ready to spend €60m to secure Abraham’s services in the summer.
