As we’ve said in the past, it doesn’t matter how many times Rocco Commisso comes out and tries to downplay a potential Dusan Vlahovic exit, the fact Manchester City are circling means a big bid can come at any moment to make him change his mind.

Their prime target to bolster the attack remains Harry Kane, of course, but Tottenham’s reluctance to sell their star man has forced Pep Guardiola to drop down his wishlist, at least temporarily.

There have been multiple claims that Manchester City have already reached an agreement with Vlahovic and his agent regarding a contract, but Gazzetta dello Sport make it clear they haven’t ‘presented a written offer’ to Fiorentina.

There is talk of an €80m bid being ready, but first, the Premier League champions ‘will make one final assault for Kane’, and if that doesn’t work, they will then ‘move’ for the Serbian.

With under two weeks left in the transfer window, there is still plenty of time for all of this to happen, and it will be interesting to see if one of the two barricades set up by Tottenham and Fiorentina for their respective stars falters.

Our guess is the Serie A side’s is the weakest, as they are in a more dire need for money, but if Harry Kane starts really pushing for a move, then he could weaken it from the inside to help Manchester City’s assault.
