Three days ago, Sport1 reported Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Manchester City’s Kyle Walker is heading in the right direction.

It was also stated the right-back will be left out of the Citizens’ squad to face the Bavarian club in a friendly fixture in Tokyo. That didn’t happen as he featured in Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Bayern on Wednesday.

Sport1 state the Manchester City star wants a move to the Allianz Arena but the German club must be ‘patient’ to complete the deal.

That’s because the Bundesliga winners are ‘threatened with a stalemate’ in their pursuit of the defender.

With both clubs in Japan for the pre-season tour, it gave them an opportunity to hold talks for the 33-year-old. For now, it’s claimed Bayern haven’t yet made a ‘breakthrough’ in the negotiations for the 33-year-old.

The fullback has a year left on his deal and already has a renewal offer from the treble winners. Pep Guardiola has also urged him to continue at the Etihad.

Manchester City, led by sporting director Txiki Begiristain, are still hoping for the defender to change his stance and sign a new deal with them.

Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg also reported there’s been no breakthrough in talks between Bayern and Manchester City but talks are ongoing over a deal for Walker.
