The Brazilian media now has some more accurate information on the situation of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.
According to Globo Esporte, the player will be sidelined for ‘from three to four weeks’ due to a muscle issue.
It’s said the latest scans have shown he has an injury on the rectus femoris muscle of the right leg.
Manchester City already communicated the Brazilian national team, and he’s now set to miss their upcoming games.
Ederson had been called up for the friendlies against England and Spain later this month. That comes out as a big blow for him, as this would’ve been a big chance to guarantee that he’d be the number one in the Copa America.
Manager Dorival Junior has just made his first call up, and since Liverpool’s Alisson is also injured, the Manchester City player had a big chance to convince the new boss that he deserved the place in the team.
Now Brazil are set to play the upcoming friendlies with Athletico’s Bento and São Paulo’s Rafael, while Ederson focuses on the recovery to play for Pep Guardiola’s side in the hunt for all the titles they’ve been chasing.
