Manchester City star Erling Haaland may continue to be linked with a Real Madrid move, but the Catalan media would like to have a say in that narrative.
A fresh report from Sport today claims that Barcelona have the striker as one of their targets, as president Joan Laporta sees the player as one of the ‘main objectives’.
Besides saying that Barça already held a meeting with Haaland’s agent Rafaela Pimenta, the outlet brings some quotes from Bojan Krkic on Cadena SER.
The father of the former Barcelona player, who used to work as a scout for the Blaugrana, claimed that Haaland actually has a favourite club for after Manchester City, and it’s not Real Madrid.
“Barça is recovering little by little. It’s going to return to the Camp Nou and that changes a lot in terms of marketing and merchandising. Then there are investors, the sale of players…”
We must say it’s not really a surprise to see the Catalan media feeding Barcelona’s rivalry against Real Madrid in the fight for a signing, although that sounds a little unlikely in this case.
It’s no secret it’d take lots of money to sign Haaland from Manchester City, so it’s difficult to even imagine the Camp Nou side trying his signing at a stage when they’re struggling with financial issues.
