After the news that Mateo Kovacic is one step away from officially being made a Manchester City player, Pep Guardiola’s side are close to sealing another deal.
This time it’s for a defender, and one the Cityzens have been after for a long time: it’s of course RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.
The Croatia international, if Calciomercato.it’s Raffaele Amato in Italy is to be believed, is now one step closer to moving to Manchester City.
That’s because the centre-back, who can also play down the left, has reached an ‘agreement’ with the Champions League winners.
All that is left is the negotiations between the two clubs, and those are said to be ‘already very advanced’, meaning that unless something drastic changes in the coming hours or days, then a transfer could be wrapped up sooner rather than later.
While no fee is mentioned, previous reports have stated the German side have been asking for an amount of around €100m for their star, meaning Manchester City are likely having to open their wallet very wide for this one.
Agreement between #Gvardiol and #ManchesterCity. Now only negotiation, already very advanced, between the clubs. @calciomercatoit
