Manchester City are closing in on Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso, preparing a bid worth €60-65m.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says Manchester City are preparing to test Juventus’ resolve over the left-back.

He’s been named as a potential target for Pep Guardiola’s side as they look to strengthen with a big spend this month.

Reports over the last week have seen them edging towards a potential bid for him, with everyone at Juventus seemingly expecting it.

It’s been made clear that the Italian side have no intention of selling their left-back unless they receive a huge bid for him. They consider him a key player for Thiago Motta and are reluctant to sell in January.

Di Marzio suggests Manchester City are now ready to test that resolve. According to his information, they are ‘closing in’ on the player and preparing a bid worth €60-65m.

Whether that is enough to tempt Juventus to sell the 24-year-old remains to be seen. It does represent a huge profit on a player who cost them €13.3m in 2022, though.

Either way, Manchester City are ready to push and make an official bid. That will continue what is fast becoming a major spend in the January transfer window.
