Over the past few days, parts of the Italian press have been confident that Manchester City were going to make an offer for Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso after their Champions League game against Club Brugge.
The Citizens beat the Belgian club 3-1 last night and progressed to the next round of the competition.
Their offer for the Italian full-back is yet to be made and it now seems as if Manchester City may not sign Cambiaso this month.
Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, have reported today that the 24-year-old will not move to the Etihad for now.
They believe that there is no time left in the January transfer window for the transfer to be negotiated. On top of that, there is belief that Manchester City’s offer will not be enough for Juventus to sell Cambiaso.
More than that, if the player were to be sold this month, there would be very limited time for the Bianconeri to sign a replacement.
In the summer transfer window, the link can heat up again. At that point, Juve will have more time to plan for a replacement and hope to negotiate a high fee to sell the Italy international.
