Manchester City fans will remember how German newspaper Bild went huge on Leroy Sane moving to them during the January transfer window. At the time the whole thing seemed rather unlikely, largely because it was the winter window and such huge moves rarely happen, especially when a club is set against a sale, as Schalke were.
Bild add that an offer from Manchester City is now imminent, and they say the club’s manager is excited about the player. Pep Guardiola is keen to add Sane’s pace to his side, and would use him through the middle rather than on the wing.
The German newspaper believe this would represent a change in Manchester City’s style, with Guardiola wanting a fast and fluid attack, maybe without a traditional centre forward.
