AS Roma star Kostas Manolas has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League this summer.
Initially, Manchester United were linked to the defender, but latest reports suggest Arsenal and Chelsea are competing for his signature.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to increase Manolas’ wages from €1.5m/year to €4m/year.
AS Roma, however, has asked the player to wait until September, as his former club Olympiakos will get 50% of any transfer fee received before the 1st of September.
The Serie A club will have also played their Champions league play-offs game by then, and can assess their squad accordingly.
AS Roma have already signed Juan Jesus, and are close to sign Nacho, so there is a perhaps a chance Manolas could be allowed to leave.
Earlier, his agent Iannis Evangelopoulos revealed to the Italian media they’ve failed to agree a new contract with AS Roma, and that it might not happen in the coming weeks as well.
