Tanguy Ndombele preferred position is in the centre of the pitch, but Bruno Génésio has used him as a defensive midfielder. He’s played 17 matches in all competitions for Lyon this season, scoring two goals and registering four assists in the process.
The front page report of Sport mentions the 21-year-old’s performance has seen him being identified by Barcelona as an alternate target, if they fail to sign either of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Ajax star Frenkie de Jong.
It is also mentioned in the same report that the player’s profile will have attracted other suitors apart from the La Liga winners and this is when Manchester City’s name is mentioned.
Earlier in September, Ndombele extended his contract at Groupama Stadium and his current deal runs down until 2023, which is why Sports claims Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas would demand at least €60m for his star’s sale.
