All of a sudden, the Italian media today reports Manchester City’s interest in Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The news comes from TuttoMercatoWeb, and says that in case Bernardo Silva leaves the club, they have the Nerazzurri player as the ‘first name’ on their list.
It’s claimed that Manchester City sent Paris Saint Germain a €100m request to sell the Portuguese star. There’s still a big gap between them, but in case he goes, then it’s time to look somewhere else.
Pep Guardiola’s side obviously faced Barella in the Champions League final, and even though he’s a different player from Bernardo Silva, it’s said that the English club have ‘fallen in love’ with him.
Guardiola reportedly was ‘impressed’ with the Italian player and considers him ‘excellent’.
TuttoMercatoWeb claims it remains to be seen how much Manchester City could offer to Inter Milan, as the Nerazzurri would like to make something close to what West Ham got when selling Declan Rice to Arsenal.
That means a €120m price would be ‘impossible to refuse’, but a lot needs to happen until we get to that stage.
