Earlier this week, Coluna do Fla reported Wesley França gave his approval to Manchester City, and they intend to formalise an initial bid of €35m. They also stated Flamengo are hoping to collect €40m.

The Premier League club are looking to strengthen the right-back position in the summer window and Wesley is their main target.

A fresh report from Coluna do Fla covers more on Manchester City’s attempts to secure his services.

The 21-year-old’s development at Flamengo helped him make his debut for Brazil in March and also attract interest from several European clubs. As well as Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United are monitoring him.

Both the Gunners and the Red Devils made contact but haven’t tabled formal bids yet. In addition to the Premier League duo, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Juventus and Barcelona have shown interest.

The report states these clubs haven’t made progress as much as Manchester City. Wesley, for his part, continues to prefer the Citizens’ project and has already given them his approval.

Pep Guardiola’s side are ‘close to making official proposal’ of €35m. Flamengo, like the English club, have qualified for the Club World Cup and are demanding €45m to sell him before next month’s tournament in the US.

It’s unclear whether Manchester City will wait until the end of the Club World Cup or meet Flamengo’s request to wrap up the deal quickly.
