In recent days, we’ve covered several reports from Brazil claiming Internacional are interested in signing Nahuel Bustos from Manchester City.

With the Colorado failing in their quest to land Dario Benedetto from Boca Juniors, they were said to have turned their attention to the 24-year-old.

Inter, however, seem to have had a big setback in the chase for Bustos as well. That’s because, according to the latest claim, Manchester City are not interested in loaning the player out this summer.

Journalist Leonardo Meneghetti reports that the intention from Pep Guardiola’s side in this transfer window is to let the player go, but in an outright sale.

The reporter claims he couldn’t find out the exact amount Manchester City are demanding for the transfer, but was told the price is ‘too high’ for a player who’s still to prove himself. The same opinion is shared by Internacional, who are now set to step back in their chase.

Signed by the Premier League side in a €6.5m deal in 2020, Bustos spent the last two years on loan at Girona, where he scored 15 goals in 82 appearances.
