Julen Lopetegui’s time in charge at West Ham United is under increasing pressure.
Should fortunes not improve then a managerial change is on the cards and multiple names are now being linked with the Premier League club.
In Italy, Maurizio Sarri is being presented as an option.
CalciomercatoWeb have reported that the Italian’s candidature for the West Ham job is ‘alive and well’, stating that he is in the club’s shortlist, as they hunt for a new manager.
A move within Italy seems difficult for Sarri. AS Roma are a crisis club but Sarri’s past with rivals Lazio is likely to hold that move back. That is why the 65-year-old is looking abroad for a new adventure.
He is said to harbour a desire to return to the Premier League, where he managed Chelsea and won the Europa League.
The report states that Edin Terzic is the favourite to become the next Hammers’ boss, Sarri is also a candidate and is currently an alternative to the ex-Borussia Dortmund manager.
