Hardly a mainstay at Tottenham these days, Danny Rose is being linked with a move away from Wembley, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly interested.
Having sold Yuri Berchiche to Athletic Bilbao, the Ligue 1 champions are looking for someone else to challenge Layvin Kurzawa for the left-back role going into the new campaign.
Allegedly near the top of their list is the England international, and Thomas Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain’s new manager, was asked about the situation during a press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash against Angers.
He said, relayed by Le Parisien: “I don’t comment on transfer rumours during the window. What I can tell you is that, three years ago, I played against Tottenham, with Kyle Walker on the right and Danny Rose on the left. For three days, my staff and I looked for a way to deal with them offensively and defensively.
“However, Rose is a Tottenham player. You can understand if I don’t talk about it”.
To us, that sounds like Tuchel revealing a certain amount of respect and admiration for the Spurs man, which he didn’t have to do.
He could have just as easily refused to answer the question, as many managers do, but instead decided to somewhat talk up the left-back.
Our guess is the interest definitely is there.
The first rumours about Danny Rose and a move to Paris date back to last December, when Le Foot explained the Tottenham defender was a target for Antero Henrique when Unai Emery was still manager.
