After leaving Bournemouth in August, Scott Parker finally found a new job at the end of the year, when he agreed to take charge of Club Brugge on a contract until the summer of 2025.
It turns out that as things stand, he’s not expected to last that long there. The manager has one win in six matches, and the football presented by his team has been a reason for concern.
Belgian outlet Voetbal Nieuws now features a story where they claim his start has been ‘downright disappointing’, with his game showing ‘such a low level’.
The website recalls the criticism towards Parker during his stints at Fulham and Bournemouth, and says that after being called ‘boring Parker’ in England, ‘it seems to be heading in that direction’ at Club Brugge as well.
“Such football is completely at odds with the identity and philosophy of the ambitious top club. And not to mention the disappointing result,” says Voetbal Nieuws, claiming Parker is putting ‘Brugge’s reputation at stake’.
Parker took charge of Bournemouth in July 2021 and left in August 2022 with a record of 29 wins, 13 draws and 13 losses in 55 matches. He started the current season with the Cherries with two wins and three losses, and that didn’t stop him from being sacked at the beginning of this campaign.
