Feyenoord manager Brian Priske has been sharing his confidence new signings Hugo Bueno and Ibrahim Osman will be making an impact this season after signing them from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton and Hove Albion.
1908.nl cover comments from the Feyenoord manager today as he gears up for his first season in charge after a big summer of change.
It’s been a busy week in the transfer market for the Dutch side as they completed loan deals for Bueno and Osman.
Bueno arrives from Wolves on a season-long loan deal, with Feyenoord keen to add in the left-wing back position to cover for the long-term injury to Quilindschy Hartman.
The Wolves man has arrived to do just that, hoping to get the first-team football that may have not been on offer at Molineux, and Priske is excited about the signing.
“We are trying to add extra quality to what we already have in the group. We have that feeling with both of them,” he said.
“Bueno brings Premier League quality, has a lot of speed and a good left leg and a lot of experience at a higher level than we are used to. He’s going at full speed. He’s been training all week, since Sunday.”
Osman, meanwhile, arrives from Brighton having only joined the Seagulls on a permanent basis this summer.
They moved to sign him earlier this year in a €19.5m deal from Nordsjaelland, leaving him at the Danish club until this summer.
The belief was that he would remain a part of the squad, but Brighton have instead elected to loan him out to the Netherlands, something they’ve done with young players in the past before bringing them back.
And Priske is certainly looking forward to working with him, believing Feyenoord can count themselves lucky to have got a deal done.
“He was a godsend to bring in, something different from what we already had in the team,” he said.
“He has a lot of speed. Of course, I know him a bit from the Danish league, where I have followed him for the past two seasons. He has experience in the Danish league and also in European football with FC Nordsjaelland.
“He is clearly a great talent and that is also why Brighton bought him for a lot of money, the same setup as with Minteh last year.”
