Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombélé has been out on loan since January 2022.
Last month, Spurs allowed the 26-year-old to join Galatasaray on loan with an option to buy, following his temporary spells at Lyon and Napoli.
The Tottenham owned player has made four substitute appearances for the Istanbul club and their manager, Okan Buruk, admitted he’s not in the best shape. His comments are relayed by Yeniçağ Gazetesi.
On Tuesday, Galatasaray registered a 3-2 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford and the 26-year-old came off the bench in the final quarter of the tie. Another summer signing, Hakim Ziyech, missed the Champions League clash due to an injury.
“Ziyech is one of the players we have prepared. He played two very important matches for us. We are preparing Ndombélé. Not exactly in the best shape. Many of our players joined us late,” Buruk said.
The comments from the Galatasaray manager come less than a day after Milliyet journalist Nevzat Dindar stated that the Frenchman has struggled in Turkey as he’s been overweight.
Meanwhile, Sabah journalist Levent Tüzemen is of the belief the Turkish champions will have a better team when Buruk gets the best out of Ndombélé.
“When Okan makes Ndombélé fully ready and installs him in the team, Galatasaray will have a very strong midfield,” Tüzemen explained.
