Despite Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku starting life at AS Roma relatively well, what happened during the summer is still a big story in the Italian media.

Inter Milan fans remain outraged, as after spending a year playing for the Nerazzurri, the centre-forward ended up negotiating with other clubs. This annoyed many more than it would have normally done, because Inter fans thought they defended Lukaku even when he was playing poorly for them.

So Calcio Mercato now brings a statement from the Curva Nord which shows how they’ll react the next time Lukaku visits the San Siro.

Roma will be playing away against Inter Milan at the end of the month, and the fanbase have already decided how the Chelsea loanee will be treated there.

’29th October, a date to be marked in red to make us feel all the disgust we feel towards someone who turned his back on us in the most undignified manner. A character who has shown himself to be a little man, because before being a champion you have to be a man and know how to keep your word; we defended you to the hilt and you repaid us by turning your back on us.

‘Before the match against Roma the Nord will hand out 50,000 whistles to be blown at every touch of the ball by those who betrayed our jersey. Let’s show everyone how those who have shown themselves unworthy of wearing our colours deserve to be treated.’

We don’t know how much that will impact Lukaku, who may even be more encouraged by that, but the fact is that Roma are actually very happy for having won the race for him.

The striker has four goals in six appearances for the Giallorossi so far, and they’re quite happy to have spent just €5m to get him loaned from Chelsea. Now the rest of the season will tell whether they’ll work to buy him, and make Inter Milan fans even more angry.
