Matteo Darmian made his second appearance for Manchester United this season in last night’s 4-1 win over Fenerbahce.
The Italian international has been overlooked by Jose Mourinho up to now, and hasn’t made a single appearance in the Premier League this season.
Ahead of Sunday’s big match against Chelsea, Jose Mourinho rested some of the key players, and Darmian got the opportunity to impress the Portuguese manager.
However, reports in the Italian media still continue to link Darmian with a move away from England.
According to Premium Sport (via Tutto Mercato Web), Darmian is a top priority transfer for Inter in January.
Inter boss Frank de Boer is keen on signing reinforcements in the winter market, and has identified Darmian as a primary target.
Recently there were reports suggesting Inter Milan were very close to signing Darmian on loan with the option to buy.
There is still some time between now and January, and it remains to be seen if Darmian can force himself into Mourinho’s plans. Much will depend on the Portuguese manager’s decisions and he’d surely only sanction a move if he feels there’s other cover, or someone else is brought in.
