On Wednesday, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Manchester United made a loan offer to sign Sofyan Amrabat but it was rejected by Fiorentina.

Alfredo Pedullà claims the 27-year-old, who already has a ‘total agreement’ with the Red Devils, had hoped his move to Old Trafford would have already gone through.

Manchester United’s failure to offload fringe players has had an impact on their efforts to sign Amrabat, and he ‘still trusts’ and hopes to end up at Old Trafford, which is why he has rejected other options so far.

Pedullà adds both the Morocco international and Fiorentina are ‘interested in reaching a solution’ for his future and this should give Erik ten Hag’s side hope to sign him.

La Nazione say Manchester United’s offer was an ‘onerous loan of €3m plus €2m bonuses’. This was deemed too low by Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso, who has ‘reiterated his willingness to accept’ a loan formula only if a purchase option is included.

Journalist Enzo Bucchioni, writing in his column for Viola News, says Amrabat’s entourage were told to bring €30m offers and haven’t managed it.

Despite this, the midfielder is still keen to leave and ‘only wants Manchester United’ but it’s believed FFP rules are holding them back.

That doesn’t mean a move is completely ruled out as Bucchioni claims ‘work is underway’ to sign Amrabat on a loan deal with an obligation to buy set at €27m.

The window closes on Friday and Manchester United have to act fast to get this deal over the line.
