Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been given fresh hope of signing Vitor Roque despite Barcelona having a ‘pre-agreement’ with Athletico Paranaense, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Last month, the La Liga side agreed a deal of €30m plus €20m in bonuses with the Brazilian side, but haven’t yet sent the documents to conclude the operation.
This hasn’t pleased Athletico Paranaense, who are now ‘losing patience’. Mundo say their director, Alexandre Mattos, has given an ultimatum to Barca to close the deal in the next 24 hours.
Should they fail to do so, Athletico Paranaense will contemplate offers from other clubs and this is where Manchester United and Tottenham would come into the picture.
The two Premier League sides and Paris Saint-Germain can take advantage of Barca’s delicate financial conditions to try and sign the 18-year-old in this window.
It’s claimed PSG, Manchester United and Tottenham ‘do not stop calling’ and are ‘willing to travel to finalise the transfer’ of the striker.
The newspaper adds the trio are assuring a better economic deal to Athletico Paranaense and they would also triple Roque’s salary.
Mundo have warned Barcelona of the risk of losing Roque, should they fail to act soon and conclude the deal.
There’s every chance Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are being used to pressure Barcelona.
