It really has got to a point in the Marouane Fellaini saga where you have to wonder why Manchester United haven’t told the Belgium midfielder to shove his demands where the sun don’t shine and moved on.

We get the fact that José Mourinho is a big fan and wants the midfielder to stick around, but the amount of clubs the player appears to be in talks with suggests he really would rather go elsewhere.

The latest to add to the list are Arsenal, with Foot 365 journalist Patrick Juillard revealing on Twitter that Fellaini’s representatives are due to meet with the Gunners early this week to discuss a potential free transfer for the Belgium international.

Out of contract on June 30th, the midfielder has a renewal offer from the Red Devils on the table, but the former Everton star’s desire to be a regular first-team player means he’d rather look around at what’s available for now.

It was reported last week that talks with AC Milan had slowed down after Fellaini asked for €7m/year post tax plus a few bonuses; far too much for the financially restrained Serie A side.

Arsenal probably have the money to match his demands, yet it remains to be seen if they’re willing to do so for a 30-year-old whose best years could quickly be behind him.

Guess we’ll have to wait and see what comes from this meeting.
