Manchester United are interested in Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel, according to reports from the German media.
Sky Deutschland writes that the Red Devils recently made first contact over signing the 18-year-old next summer.
It’s said Manchester United ‘already discussed him intensely internally’, as they ‘definitely’ want a new attacker added to Erik ten Hag’s squad.
According to Sky, Tel is aware of the Red Devils interest, but despite being in an uncomfortable situation on Bayern Munich’s bench, he’s focused on becoming a ‘legend’ there.
Now in case he does not ‘get the feeling’ he’ll be used more by the Bundesliga side, then he could evaluate the options for his career.
Since it’s said it’s unlikely Tel will suddenly get starts at the Bundesliga club, perhaps that would give Manchester United a bigger chance to convince him to move to Old Trafford.
The winger has six goals and three assists in 27 appearances for Bayern Munich this season, and is valued by Transfermarkt at €50m.
It’s possible Tel is one of a number of options being considered by Manchester United, but the German media do love linking Bayern Munich players with the Premier League club.
